Megan has over ten years of experience with Federal and State tax compliance and planning, audit defense, and tax research. To help you further evaluate her abilities, the following is a list of recent roles and services Megan has performed:
- Federal and State & Local Tax Compliance: Megan has extensive experience with Federal and State corporate tax compliance, including large multi-entity consolidated Federal returns and single, combined and worldwide State returns and calculations. Her state tax experience includes working with state apportionment, modifications, provision to return analysis, and estimates and extensions. She has worked with virtually all commonly used tax compliance software such as ONESOURCE, ProSystem fx, and Corptax, and has hands-on experience with HFM and FAS. In addition to her corporate tax compliance experience, Megan also spent several years preparing and reviewing partnership, not-for-profit, and individual tax returns.
- Domestic Provision Support: Megan has assisted with various provision projects including current provision preparation for federal and state & local tax calculations, FIN 48 documentation, and deferred tax basis projects.
- Audit Defense: Megan served as the tax lead for state controversy work, and managed various state and federal audits. This included conducting meetings with auditors, discussing and resolving complicated issues, responding to notices and completing information document requests.
- Tax Research: Megan has broad experience with tax research, particularly multi-state and research involving the 2017 Tax Act. She is adept at researching issues to stay up to date with changes in laws and legislation, and documenting tax positions for both tax return and tax accounting purposes.
