Tax Leadership

  • Management and direction of all aspects of tax accounting, compliance and audit defense for Federal, state, and international tax
  • Directed, managed and prepared most areas of direct and indirect corporate taxes

International Tax

  • US Reporting including the preparation and review of foreign tax credits, Subpart F income, Section 956, Toll Charge under Section 965, GILTI, BEAT, FDII, tested income and E&P calculations
  • Evaluation of permanent establishment exposure and nonresident filing requirements, including updates for OECD driven changes to BEPS, Multilateral Instrument, and related treaty changes
  • Assistance with preparation and review of Canada Non-Resident Income Tax Returns
  • Documentation of global transfer pricing, US and Local country reporting requirements and BEPS reporting
  • Coordination with local country statutory providers for indirect (VAT, GST), direct (Income & Capital) taxes, including withholding requirements, transfer pricing, and employee/employer issues

Tax Compliance

  • Federal, state and international tax compliance
  • Preparation and review of US Forms 1118, 5471, 8858, 5713, 8975; including Forms 8991, 8992, 8993, 965 (following US Tax Reform TCJA Pub L. 115-97)
  • Sales & use and property tax compliance, including review of sales & use and property tax software modules to ensure accurate tax treatment of transactions

Mergers and Acquisitions

  • Acquisition integration, including purchase accounting and reorganization
  • Due diligence

Federal, State and Local Country Tax Audits

  • Coordination of all aspects of Federal, state and foreign local country tax audits, including negotiation of settlements
  • Communication and written support of tax positions and documentation as required for uncertain positions

Tax Planning and Project Management

  • Management of research and experimentation tax credit studies
  • Documentation of state tax credits including R&D, jobs credits, and retraining credits
  • Business advisory on structure for new business opportunities, opening and closing Entities, contract review, collaboration with business units, finance & accounting, treasury, and legal

Tax Accounting

  • Review and preparation of domestic and foreign income tax provisions
  • Tax reserve analysis and documentation of uncertain tax positions
  • Provision to return true-ups
  • Purchase accounting
  • Assistance with tax footnotes
