Robin Cleavenger, CPA, MPAcc

Robin’s services are focused on Federal, international and state tax compliance, support for Federal and state examinations and assistance with tax accounting. Robin began her career with the IRS, has worked for several corporations and was an independent contractor prior to joining Steele Consulting. She enjoys rolling up her sleeves and getting involved in the details, and also has the ability to step back and manage the process. To help you further evaluate her abilities, the following list includes projects/services that Robin has performed:

  1. Federal, International and State Tax Compliance: These projects included preparation and review of corporate income tax returns for Federal, separate and unitary states, sales tax returns and Canadian GST. In addition, Robin has experience with International compliance, including 5471’s, 8858’s and related forms and statements, as well as the calculation and maintenance of E&P balances for CFCs. Robin is experienced in most compliance systems and learns new applications quickly.
  2. Tax Accounting: Robin has assisted with quarterly and year-end tax provision calculations, including calculation and true-up of deferred tax assets and deferred tax liabilities. In addition, Robin has analyzed the drivers of the effective tax rate (“ETR”), analyzed the impact of proposed law changes on the ETR, reviewed provision to return reconciliations and deferred proof analysis, assisted with income tax disclosures and worked with external audit firms to obtain quarterly and annual financial statement sign-off. Robin’s experience also includes identifying and quantifying uncertain tax positions, including analysis, documentation and preparation of journal entries.
  3. Project Management: These activities included coordinating projects performed by a company’s outside accounting firm, including participation in analysis of proposals and selection of the outside provider, management of project progress and coordination between outside providers and other corporate departments. Robin also developed a process to calculate domestic and foreign management fees and worked with business partners to ensure proper implementation.
  4. Management of Federal and State Audits: This activity included coordinating with various Federal and state income tax auditors, research surrounding audit issues, planning the audit and preparing formal communications for taxing authorities.

In the past several years, Robin has principally performed consulting services Atlanta based technology companies. Robin has over 20 years tax experience.


Robin is a graduate of Weber State University in Ogden Utah, with a BS and a Masters Degree in Accounting.
