Colette has led the tax reporting and compliance function for a Fortune 500 company, focusing on tax minimization, creation of tax efficient processes, short and long term strategy and creating tax policy and procedures for decentralized finance partners in corporate operations. While Colette has served in a variety of leadership capacities, she remains very “hands-on” and is willing to work in a preparation or review role. To help you further evaluate her abilities, the following is a list of recent roles and services Colette has performed:
- Tax Accounting and Compliance: Responsible for Federal income tax compliance, tax accounting methods, planning, quarterly and annual tax provisions using GAAP, federal audits, staff development, and tax technology. Primary responsibility for Federal group administration and day-to-day operations.
- Audit Leadership: Served as the primary contact to the IRS and successfully closed audit cycles for 2013 and 2014 using the IRS CAP process. Prior to CAP, was first contact for IRS personnel and successfully closed continuous, onsite examinations for the tax years 2002-2012. Contributed to successful resolution of IRS Appeals, including two appeals using the FastTrack resolution process.
- Tax Reporting: Worked closely with external auditors and internal staff quarterly to successfully complete tax reporting responsibilities for press release, SEC filings (Forms 10Q and 10K) and Company annual reports. Presented at quarterly meetings with the CFO and Controller to discuss quarterly tax provision. Met with the VP Tax, CFO, and the Board of Directors to provide annual tax overviews. Developed a plan and process to release $2.1 billion valuation allowance on deferred tax assets.
- Acquisitions and Due Diligence: Participated in stock acquisitions of two publicly traded companies and several asset acquisitions. Successfully completed tax due diligence, tax planning, purchase accounting, and integration of targets’ tax compliance, and provision functions.
Colette is a CPA with over 20 years of tax experience, and her former employers include PulteGroup, Inc. and Arthur Andersen.
Colette received her Bachelor’s of Arts in Accounting from Walsh College.
